Hi, I am trying to find a scrollsaw pattern for a motor home, can you help?
Thanks, Pete
I do not currently have a pattern of this type. Dirk & Karen Boelman has a great RV pattern. You will have to search his site or even shoot him an email. Dirk is one of the foremost scrollsaw pattern designers in the country.,
http://www.theartfactory.com/
A pattern for a RV. Take a photo of the RV. Load it
into photoshop on your computer. Then change it from
a color photo to a black and white. Then remove any
details you do not want. Then add what you want like
The family name.
Hope this helps.
Jack
How do I order the drill bits you have for sale?
I am looking for a pattern of a “Bigfoot” or as we call them here in British Columbia, a “Sasquatch.”
If anyone can help my I would be grateful.
Gary
I prefer orders through Paypal. Go to the ‘Scrollsaw Store’ page and find your item. Click the ‘ADD TO CART’ button. PayPal will accept credit cards even if you do not have an account with them. If you prefer not to use PayPal, send me a private email (scrollsawvideo@gmail.com) and I will send you my address. Personal checks and money orders are accepted here. I will ship immediately, no wait for checks to clear.
Amazing website, I like your tips.
I do like the new cross. I will probably make the solid version first. At this time I am not sure about the overlay, but will make it sometime later. I would like to see more like this.
Enjoy your website but really like your newsletter as you venture outside the realm of scrolling and find some interesting sites. Keep up the great work.
Thank you.
I can not remember. Did you recomend a credit card reader for cell phones. If you did which one was it??
looking for rock n roll pattrens guitars, and guitar players
I do not currently have any patterns in that category. A friend, Charles Dearing, does have MANY that would fit your needs. He is an active poster on Facebook and you can see photos of his work there. Tell him that I sent you.
Sorry for the delay.
My friend, who sales at crsaft/art shows, uses SquareUp on his smartphone. He has never had a problem with the service.
I appreciate Karl Taylor as an artist, as well as fair and honest business man. scrollsawvideo is a great website for all those with a love of the scrollsaw. Thanks Karl.
need to cut out over 1000 foam 5″ x 5″ butterflies for a non profit. I would like to use a scroll saw. Can I and have any hints on how to do it. We usually cut them out using sissers but that takes forever.
Rick
can u teach on how to do silhouettes on core draw
Thank you
jesse
What kind of silouette are you referring to? A photo pic, clipart, etc?
I can do one to meet your needs.
mr. Karl, just wanted to say how nice it was to finally meet you at the woodworking show in atl, this year…looking forward to getting to know you atl guys better…just wish ya’ll weren’t so far from me
Karl,
Can anyone go to the IWF show like the Atlanta Wood Working Show? I had a great time talking to you last Saturday, and I learned a great deal.
Thanks,
W.O. “Jeff” Jeffares
They are on the ‘Scrollsaw Store’ page of my website.
You can order tickets from their website. See them for the details. If you order through a business name (mine is Tayco Designs) it makes the process easier. Maybe you could use ‘Jeffares Fine Woodworking” or similar.
mHello
I am a
Do you have a very good site
I enjoyed
Just watched the video from Fine Woodworking. They have a cople of good points but a lot of bad ones. Like you, I have watched Youtube woodworking videos and have learned a lot. Often the Youtube folks have a very simple straight forward fix or idea that takes an ëxpert”or magazine 6 pages to explain and often the explaination is more compliacated or involved than necessary. Like the old addage, “I ask for the time not how to build the watch.”
I took a piece of 1/4 inch plywood and framed it on the bottom to fit tightly to my table. Then you can apply a piece of formica to the top, place on your saw and mark where blade goes, drill hole of your choice in the top. You now have a slick top that does’t need wax and it is a zero clearance to keep small parts from falling through.
looking for patterns
I have four pages full of patterns.
Just a short note to say I enjoyed the interview with Fred Wilson. While there on youtube, I saw the corel draw trim tutorials. Learned just a little more about corel, which I’ve used for years. Always learning more. Thank you for everything you do.
Take care.
BRE
Thanks for the kind words. Be sure to visit patriotwoodworker.com when you have a chance.
Purchased used scroll saw and found that the blade in it (still good)had the teeth pointing upward…struck me as not only odd but totally counterintuitive as well….I have run band saws in every place from shipyards to foundries and never once saw one with the teeth oriented upwards…but maybe with the scroll saw it is different for whatever reason. I have heard that some operators prefer to have the teeth upwards—-can someone who is knowledgeable on the subject expound on this. I spent hours on the phone this morning trying to get a straight answer from hardware stores and cabinet shops all over the place.
They didn’t know.
Your instincts are correct. There are very few times when a blade should be pointed up. When cutting on the down stroke, the blade will pull the wood down towards the table making the cutting easier and smoother. You came to the right place, please look around and be sure to download the free patterns.
Karl
My husband met someone at the Gwinnett County fair or a festival, I can not remember which one, that does scroll work and has a class on Monday nights in Lawrenceville, Ga. Would that person be you? If so, what do I need to do to sign him up as a surprise for christmas?
Sorry for the delay. I was at the woodworking show last March doing demos. We have a scrollsaw club that meets once a month at Peachtree Woodworking Supply in Norcross. Check out our website at http://www.gwinnettwoodworkers.com
Its nice
Nice site. Do you have any plans for a homemade wooden peddle scrollsaw? I was at a craft show a while back and seen a scroller making small animals for the kids. He was peddling his butt off for the kids but having alot of fun.
Third time
Are you referring to the Duluth Fall Festival? If so that was my friend John Morris which I have a video interview with him on my website.
To answer your question, Rick Hucheson has a great homemade pedal saw on his website http://www.scrollsaws.com . Look at his site and see if this is what you are looking for.
Karl.
Please explain, I may be missing something here.
Your work is just excellent
Hello Karl, I am starting to make jigsaw puzzles. What would be the best way to shrink wrap them. Where do I purchase the supplies?
Thanks, Vinnie
I just came across your site and saw the videos on YouTube, Nice job. I thought I would share an alternative to scroll sawing, I just built a CHEVALET(kind of a scroll saw) its used to cut veneers aranged in packets to make Marquetry. I like it because you have more control over what the saw blade does plus the satisfaction of building it myself. Keep up the great site and I love the videos.
Cool, I will look for a YouTube video that features one and share it on the Misc Videos page.
The easiest and least expensive way would be sandwich wrap or ziploc bags. I use a shrink wrap machine and then use a hairdryer to shrink the wrap for a tight fit. I should do another video of this process, kind of hard to explain. Shrink wrap machines can be found at most warehouse supply companies such as Uline or Global. I found mine at a yard sale for 20.00, great find.
Sure, if you would like to send a sample for review I would be happy to do so.
http://youtu.be/1NDWz9IS6oo Here is a link to the video on using the CHEVALET that you asked for. KT do you have any 2.0 drill bits & smaller? I did not see them.
Karl received my chuck and drills bits in the mail this a.m. Thanks, can’t wait to put them to use.
Jimmy
Yes, I have drill bits to the #80 wire size.
